1, fine grinding

The problem that should be paid attention to when grinding is still not to heat the casting, not to cause grinding injury on the surface of the casting, and to make the whole surface smooth and smooth.


2, barrel grinding method


The so-called barrel grinding method is to be processed casting, grinding material, water and additives into the barrel grinding groove, grinding barrel rotation and vibration, so that the mixture of grinding material and the processing of the casting friction, the casting surface grinding smooth, flat. It is characterized by no dust pollution, low labor intensity, and no heat generation in the conventional grinding process. At present, Japan has commercial barrel grinding machine and used for titanium and titanium alloy castings, other metal castings and plastics grinding with grinding materials for sale, through the test proved that PK series of grinding efficiency is the highest, but the surface roughness rate is also the highest. Although the grinding efficiency of SA and B series abrasives is not as good as that of PK, the surface smoothness of titanium castings after grinding is the highest. At present, the fourth Military Medical University has successfully developed the first dental barrel grinding machine in China.


3, mechanical polishing method


Use different specifications of soft cloth wheel or black brush, dipped in titanium and titanium alloy containing special polishing paste on titanium and titanium alloy surface polishing method. When polishing titanium castings, it is necessary to completely clear the contaminated layer on the surface of the casting and no new grinding hardening layer, otherwise the desired polishing effect cannot be achieved. High speed and light pressure are still used in polishing. Some people have tested using green polishing paste to polish titanium and titanium alloy castings, and achieved a better polishing effect. The polished titanium and titanium alloy castings cannot be washed immediately. They can be washed only after the oxide film on the surface is completely formed, otherwise the surface will darken.
